Private Test Prep

Our philosophy around test prep is simple: we must identify and close academic gaps, practice test-taking strategies, and build endurance through strong study habits. Strong performance on standardized tests is 90 percent deeply knowing the subject matter and 10 percent utilizing the right test-taking strategies. Additionally, being able to truly engage with and focus on the test for the entire testing period—test endurance—is the foundation of student success.

Private Test Prep (ACT, SAT, GRE, ISEE, Praxis, NES)

Similar to our approach for academic tutoring, we personalize every element of private test preparation to meet the unique needs of each student. Every lesson is developed from scratch specifically for the student’s academic gaps and test goals with close attention to their learning style. We utilize resources developed by the makers of the tests (ACT, College Board, and ETS) rather than third-party created resources. When you work with us, you are hiring a test prep expert to develop and facilitate high-quality, personalized lessons to close academic gaps and meet testing goals. Of note, our team members scored in the top 95th percentile or higher on the test they teach.

In terms of logistics, we typically meet students in their homes, but we are happy to meet at a convenient public location as well. We meet with students every day of the week, most hours of the day, so scheduling is very flexible.

After a thorough intake, your child will be personally matched with the right fit test prep tutor for what he/she needs. Your tutor will provide the following:

  • A student learning plan with overarching learning goals, objectives, and metrics of success. The learning plan is designed by the teacher for each individual student they support.
  • Post-session notes and next steps after each session, which includes notes from their time together, as well as next steps for what you child should accomplish before they meet again.
  • Benchmark practice testing to measure progress along the way.
