PRIVATE ACADEMIC TUTORING
When you choose us, you are hiring a highly qualified teacher who embraces a personalized and data-driven approach to teaching and learning. We don’t rely on a single fixed curriculum for all students; instead, we employ a variety of evidence-based methods tailored to your child’s unique learning style and goals. Our tutors are dedicated, prepared, and outcome oriented.
Our academic tutoring services are tailored to each student. We understand that every learner has unique goals, learning styles, and personalities, which is why our sessions are designed specifically to meet their individual needs. Whether your child requires focused tutoring in a specific subject, academic intervention in a deficit area like reading or math, or comprehensive support across various subjects, we have the right tutor for you. Our tutors also prioritize the development of executive functioning skills like time management, organization, and backwards planning.
Our tutors typically meet students in their homes, but we are also open to meeting at a convenient public location, like a local library or coffee shop. We offer flexible scheduling every day of the week, and we do not have set business hours—you and your tutor work out the specific logistics together.

PRIVATE TEST PREP (ACT, SAT, ISEE, Praxis, GRE)
Our approach to test prep is simple, personalized, and proven: Close academic gaps. Build test-taking confidence. Train for endurance.
At Thrive, we know that strong test performance comes from deep content mastery and the ability to stay focused under pressure. That’s why we go beyond generic strategies and tailor every session to your student’s unique needs, goals, and learning style.
We believe that success on standardized tests is roughly 90% subject mastery and 10% strategic execution — so we work to ensure your student knows the material inside and out and understands how to apply it on test day.
Each student begins with a full-length diagnostic and a personalized plan. Our tutors—who all scored in the top 5% of the tests they teach—create custom lessons that fill academic gaps, build confidence, and teach effective strategies for timing, pacing, and stamina.
We also offer access to our digital SAT/ACT platform for students who want additional structure and practice between sessions, including full-length tests, progress tracking, and AI-powered homework support.
Sessions are typically held in students’ homes, but tutors can also meet at libraries, coffee shops, or virtually. We offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, and no set minimums—just smart, focused prep built around what works best for your family.

SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVOCACY
Navigating the special education process can be very challenging. You might be a parent wondering IF your child needs services and how to get the ball rolling with the process or a parent who is concerned about the services your child is receiving (or not receiving but should be). We would love to partner with you.
Our advocates work with families in person and remotely to get to the bottom of their situation and walk through the process together. Some families reach out for a quick review of the situation in order to pin down key talking points for an upcoming IEP meeting. Other families work with us for months to unpack what has transpired, review documents, prepare for future meetings and assessments, and in some cases, attend school-based meetings together. Whatever your situation might be, we would love to work with you to figure out the best path forward for your child.

- How do I get an evaluation for special education services?
- What does my child’s evaluation mean?
- How should my child be supported at school and at home based on the evaluation information?
- What accommodations/modifications would be best for my child?
- Should I get an outside evaluation?
- What should my child’s IEP goals be?
- How and when should my child’s progress be monitored?
- When is it time to decrease the services my child receives?
- How do I effectively communicate with my child’s school leaders and teachers?
SCHOOL CHOICE CONSULTING
Stay tuned. We’ve just brought on a new team member who will be providing educational consulting to help families navigate school-choice decisions.
Who we serve
We work with a wide range of individuals, ranging from preschoolers preparing for kindergarten to seasoned professionals taking the GRE, and truly everything in between. Our expertise lies particularly in K-12 reading and math intervention, high school math and science, middle school executive functioning, and test prep. Approximately 75 percent of our students have learning differences, including ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism spectrum disorder, and giftedness. We understand that gifted learners often require tailored support to challenge their advanced capabilities while addressing asynchronous development or other coexisting needs, ensuring every individual reaches their full potential.
