Academic Tutoring

Our academic tutoring services are personalized for every student we support; sessions are designed to meet the unique learning goals, leaning style, and personality of each student. Whether you are seeking in-depth tutoring in one particular subject area or general support across the board, we are here to help. For many students, we also focus on developing executive functioning skills, such as time management, backwards planning, and organization. We work with students from preschool through college, including students with learning differences.

Academic Tutoring Overview

When you work with us, you are hiring a private teacher to develop lessons specifically for your child. We do not use one pre-determined curriculum for all students; rather, we use a variety of evidence-based methods based on what will work best for your child’s learning style and learning goals. Our work is deeply personalized, comprehensive, and results driven.

In terms of logistics, we typically meet students in their homes, but we are happy to meet at a convenient public location as well. We meet with students every day of the week, most hours of the day, so scheduling is very flexible.

We have a team of over 60 teachers. After a thorough intake, your child will be personally matched with the right fit educator for what he/she needs. Your teacher will provide the following:

  • A student learning plan with overarching learning goals, objectives, and metrics of success. The learning plan is designed by the teacher for each individual student they support.
  • Post-session notes and next steps after each session, which includes notes from their time together, as well as next steps for what you child should accomplish before they meet again.
  • Communication with your child’s classroom teacher(s) to get on the same page about goals, gain their perspective about your child’s learning need, etc. (unless otherwise requested).
  • In addition to academic tutoring, teachers also provide students with thorough support around developing their executive functioning skills, such as backwards planning, organization, time management, etc.
